Why 20 In 20 For 20? Sometimes, change doesn’t start with a grand gesture. Sometimes it starts quietly. One adult showing up consistently. One young person realizing they matter. One relationship that quietly becomes solid ground.

That is what mentoring can do. It does not fix everything overnight, but it can change the direction of a child’s story. Right now, there are children and youth in Oxford County who are waiting for that kind of connection. They are waiting for someone who will show up consistently, listen, encourage, and remind them that they matter.

This March we are launching 20 In 20 For 20! For the first 20 days of the month, we are working toward one goal: raise $20,000 in 20 days so we can start 20 new mentoring matches. Our goal is to inspire 1,000 people to give $20 each. That is less than 1% of Oxford County’s population. It is also a gift that many people can manage. It is often what we spend on coffee or takeout without even thinking. But when 1,000 people come together to give $20, something powerful happens. We create real change for kids right here in our own community.

Mentoring takes more than good intentions. It takes care and support behind the scenes. Your donation helps us screen and train volunteers, create thoughtful matches, and provide ongoing support so those relationships are safe, strong, and lasting.

The math is simple: if 1,000 people in Oxford County donate $20 each in 20 days, we will raise $20,000 to start 20 new mentoring matches!

Matching Dollars Thanks To TD

We are incredibly grateful to share that TD will match the first $5,000 donated to this campaign. That means if you give early, your $20 can go twice as far and help us build momentum quickly.

“One of the big reasons this matters to me is that I was a Big Sister through BBBS Oxford, and it had a huge impact on my life. I saw firsthand how important having a consistent, positive role model can be, and how much those relationships really matter. Also, these youth are the future of Oxford County. Having someone in their corner who shows up and believes in them can make such a difference, and I love that this campaign is helping make that possible for more young people in our local community.”

“Big Brothers Big Sisters has always held a special place in my heart.  Knowing the work the agency does in the community to help the littles in need makes the donation an easy one. And to think that we only need 1000 people to donate $20 makes this campaign an easy reach!”
