Congrats to Ray F., our Big Mentor of the Month for June!
Ray began his journey with BBBSOC, as a mentor in our PRISM Program. He has mentored two 2SLGBTQIA+ identifying youth over the past three years! During the pandemic, Ray searched for “volunteer opportunities that would have a positive impact on the community.” He says, “I found that BBBS had the PRISM program, which right away seemed like a great way for me to offer my experience and knowledge as well as build positive and encouraging relationships with youth.”
Ray has been valuable as a mentor and has created meaningful connections, recalling when he and his mentee played badminton in the sand; it was a “thrilling and hilarious experience,” which they highly recommend trying!
