Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie Campaign raised close to $82,000 through sales at the Ingersoll, Innerkip and Woodstock locations.
The campaign, in its third year now, had a record-setting year raising over $13-million across Canada with a 100% of the proceeds from each cookie sale going to local charities (selected by the restaurant owners) and Tim Hortons Foundation Camps. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County were thrilled to be the charity of choice for the owners of Tims locations in Ingersoll, Innerkip and Woodstock again this year, receiving a cheque for $40,851 to support the free mentoring programs and services offered to children and youth in our community.
“Seeing our community rally behind kids in this way is incredibly humbling,” says Executive Director, Kristen Ralph. “Last year we matched almost 700 children and youth in mentoring programs, and the need for our services continues to grow faster than our funding. This generous support from our local Tim Hortons owners, their teams, and everyone who bought a Smile Cookie couldn’t come at a better time. It helps us keep saying ‘yes’ to children and youth in Oxford County who are waiting for a mentor.”
Over 150 community-members volunteered their time through the week at the eight participating restaurants, sharing smiles and spreading happiness by decorating thousands of cookies every day.
“The Holiday Smile Cookie campaign is truly a team effort, and it’s not a small undertaking. Planning, preparing, and executing a campaign of this size takes a tremendous amount of time and puts real pressure on restaurant owners and staff during an already busy season. We are deeply grateful to our local Tim Hortons owners, their teams, the volunteers who helped decorate, and everyone who bought a cookie. You’ve turned cookies into sparking connection for children, youth, and families across Oxford County.”
Sales through the Tim Hortons locations in Ingersoll, Innerkip, and Woodstock have raised more than $217,773 over the past three years—$108,886 of which has supported BBBS Oxford. These funds stay in Oxford County, directly helping young people and their caregivers through our one-to-one, group, community, and school-based programs. With no ongoing government or core funding, donations like the Holiday Smile Cookie campaign are essential to ensuring local youth facing adversity can access the consistent, caring support of a Developmental Relationship through mentorship.
