The excitement of the $25,000 cupcakes continues… this week Unifor Local 88 stopped by the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ingersoll, Tillsonburg & Area office to official present them with a cheque for $25,000, wow! The extremely generous donation from Unifor Local 88 was thanks to a collective bargained fund with GM Canada of $100,000 for community outreach each year for the next 4 years. Unifor wanted to to create shock and surprise when providing the donation, and that was most definitely accomplished as Joe Graves (President) and Mike Van Boekel (Plant Chair) bid against one another in the Big Brothers Big Sisters live auction on a dozen cupcakes until they reached the whopping $25,000! These funds will go a long way in ensuring Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ingersoll, Tillsonburg & Area can continue offering valuable mentoring programs to approximately 250 children and youth each year.
